Climate There is a perfect cruising in the French Riviera May through September, with sunny, warm, dry weather. This balmy climate allows a broad range of vegetation to flourish, and provides the area with a unique cuisine.
The sea is generally quiet with moderate breezes and the tides and currents are easily negotiated. Generally the wind blows northwest at 5-15 knots, which makes for pleasant sailing conditions and calm anchorages.

Low season : from October to April
Middle season : May, June and September
High season : July and August.
Airports
Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (NCE). Situated four miles (6kms) west of Nice. There are a number of restaurants, bars and shops, banks and foreign exchange in both terminals. Nice Airport website.
Marseille Provence Airport (MRS). Located 15 miles (24kms) north of Marseille and 16 miles (26km) south of Aix-en-Provence. Qualifications
To charter a sailing yacht in French Riviera it is only necessary for one crew member to have a good skipper resume.
Bareboat motoryachting is only allowed under 35 feet, a nautical licence is mandatory.
