Yacht Charter Cuba, Trinidad and Cienfuegos.

Cuba, the largest of the Caribbean islands, incorporates a fascinating blend of colonial history with a diverse combination of Latin American, Spanish and African cultures. Spotless white sandy beaches, coconut palms and an underwater world that is home to five hundred species of fish and fifty different coral types surround this exciting island. Cuba and the surrounding islands have a sub tropical climate, which is influenced by balmy northeast trade winds. Cuba is most famous for its lobster, try it cooked ‘asodo’, roasted in a small open pit and served with traditional black beans and rice. Chicken and pork dishes accompanied by brown rice, fried banana and sweet potato are also very popular. Choose from our fleet of 37ft to 45ft yachts and catamarans.

Boat rental starting bases
There are two main bases and four main island groups to explore along the southern shore of Cuba, the largest island in the Caribbean. Your sailing area from the two main bases, Cienfuegos or Trinidad incorporates the Canarreos archipelago and the Juventud Islands or Jardines de la Reina Archipelago.

Trinidad : this base is 15 minutes from the colonial style city of Trinidad, located in the centre of the south coast of Cuba. Enjoy the incredible landscape of the Escambray mountains close by and admire the many rivers, tropical flowers and stunning waterfalls all around.

Cienfuegos : All services of a modern marina, but also a normal, very vivid Cuban city, an environment of many cultural and natural attractions : La Perla del Sur , the pearl of the south, makes all these requirements meet in an ideal way. Enjoy the beauty of its rich architectural heritage from the 19th century.

Airport
International Havana Airport. Flights from Europe, Mexico, Canada and Jamaica every day.

Weather and sailing conditions
Winds are sometimes stronger to the north of the islands and regular and constant trade winds benefit the more sheltered south coast. Strong currents can sometimes be experienced when sailing between coral reefs.
In the Canarreos and jardines de La Reina area winds generally blow from an east to northeasterly direction. During the winter months, winds blow on average between 15-25 knots (Force 3-6). Average daily temperatures are between 22-30ºC, temperatures can, however, rise during the summer months. Evening temperatures drop slightly but remain warm and comfortable throughout the night.
