The Chesapeake Bay is one of the largest estuaries in North America, with a shore line stretching over 2000 miles and fed by some 150 rivers. Annapolis is the sailing capital of the US with a season running from early April to late October. The City Dock area is bustling with shops, restaurants and historical buildings, as well as the United States Naval Academy.
